- MILITARY SEXUAL TRAUMA
- SERVICEWOMEN’S HEALTH
- WOMEN IN COMBAT
For years servicewomen opposed combat restrictions imposed by our Armed Forces even though they frequently found themselves in combat during the early days of the Gulf War. That is, until our Defense Department lifted its ban against women participating in combat in 2015. American military women now perform all the tasks their male counterparts do, including operating radios, driving trucks, providing medical care and security, disposing of bombs and fighting the enemy. Some have also joined our special forces. More than 30 female Soldiers have joined the Army Rangers but the Navy SEALs have yet to have a woman join their ranks. At least 139 female soldiers have been killed, and more than 800 wounded on Iraq and Afghanistan battlefields since 9/11.
Proposed Legislation: Reintroduction of H.R.1509 - To amend the Military Selective Service Act to require the reinstatement of the draft whenever an authorization on the use of military force or declaration of war is in effect and to provide for the registration of women with the Selective Service System, and for other purposes (114th Congress 2015-2016)
Prospective Sponsor: Rep. Louie Gohmert (TX)

- I oppose reforming current women in combat policy and wish to donate resources to the campaign committee of Speaker Mike Johnson (LA).
- I support: 1.) Requiring the President to resume the induction of persons subject to registration in the Selective Service System for training and service in the Armed Forces (thereby reinstating the draft) upon the enactment of an authorization on the use of military force or a declaration of war. 2.) Subjecting female citizens and residents of the United States to Selective Service registration requirements. And wish to donate resources to the campaign committee of Rep. Mike Bost (IL) and/or to an advocate group currently working with this issue.
